Ptich is located on the territory of Minsk, Mogilev and Gomel regions, and is a left tributary of Pripyat. The river is 421 km. Ptich originates near the village Nareiko of Dzerzhinsky district. The upper reaches of the river is within the boundaries of the Minsk Upland, average is in the west of the Central Berezina plain, and the bottom in the Pripyat Polesie lowlands. The main right tributaries are Shat, Dokolka, Ares, left ones are Neratovka, Neslavka. Beaches are mostly peat, poetolmu walk on them can be uncomfortable and even a little dangerous.

On the river free amateur fishing is allowed but the fishing on the track and spearfishing are prohibited. But in fact it is very difficult to describe all the fishing spots of this truly great and longest river. On the whole length of the river for about a hundred fishing spots. A good place for fishing is in the village Luchitsy of Gomel region. Here you can catch trophy bream, catfish and other fish. Great place especially for fishing with spinning is located near the village of Drichin Mogilev region. Here the river is wide, you can catch any gear. A good place is also merging with Volchkovichsky reservoir. There is ide and bream, a lot of pike and perch.

Throughout the course of the river you can find a places for vacation, where there is a place for a campfire. Also on the banks of avian, just 100 m, there is hunter's house «Petrikov», located on the territory of the Petrikov district, Gomel region.
