The Vileyka Reservoir is located in Vileyka district, Minsk region. It was created in 1975 on the river Viliya and is situated in the catchment basin of the river Neman and lies 75 km downstream from Minsk. Vileyka Reservoir is the main and the largest artificial reservoir in Belarus.

The area of the largest artificial reservoir of the country - 64.6 km², is slightly less than the Belarusian pearl - Lake Naroch. Filling volume of the reservoir - 260 million m³, its width is from 2 to 3 km. The average depth is 3 - 5 m, but in some places reaches 13 meters. The shores of the reservoir are very picturesque: low, sandy shores, artificially fixed, mostly covered with pine forest. There are 10 sandy islands that are very well stand out against the blue surface of the water. The bottom is also lined with sand.

The main purpose of the Vileyka Reservoir - regulation of runoff and flooding of the river Svisloch, as well as creating conditions for outdoor activities: waterskiing, rowing and sailing. It is also one of the most popular summer and winter fishing. And in the winter and in the summer on the shores of the reservoir are many fishermen. The most popular is the reservoir in winter, when the water table is covered with a solid layer of ice. It is well caught pike, perch, bream, carp, roach and ruff. Fishing Masters participate in fishing competitions, which are held on the reservoir every season.

The reservoir is located in the recreation area Vileyka. Some of the banks of the Reservoir has a wide sandy beaches up to 100 meters, which are equipped with gazebos, a campfire and a camping ground. Near the Vileyka Reservoir is located tent city yacht club «Volna», the rural homestead in Vileyka, villages Budische, Novosady and Zabolote.
