Forest's Lake Plavno is one of the largest lakes of the Berezina water system and it's located in the territory of the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve in Dokshytsy district, Vitebsk region, on the border with Lepel district. The uniqueness of this lake is that Plavno - the only one lake in Belarus, wich is referring to the basins of the two seas: the Baltic and the Black Sea.

The lake is located in the river basin Serguch 42 km east of the town of Dokshitsy. This river flows through the lake and it connects the lake Plavno with lakes Manets and Olshitsa. From Plavno follows Berezinsky channel that connects it to the lake Berescha. The north-eastern part of the lake flows into the Baltic Sea, and south-west - into the Black Sea.

The area of the lake Plavno is 4.01 km ², its maximum depth - 2 m, and the average depth - 1.3 m. The width of the lake stretches for 1.75 km and it's length - 3.45 km. The coastline is 9.05 km. The basin of the lake is located among the wetland forest, that is why the lake shores are also low and swampy, and the slopes - expressionless. The western shores of the lake are widely used for kayaking. The bottom is flat and lined with sapropel, in consequence of which the lake is completely overgrown with underwater vegetation (macrophytes) in width from 5 to 25 m. On the western shore of the lake there is an island area of 0.07 km ². There are also floatable islands.

Besides kayaking groups the lake Plavno is especially interesting for fishermen: in the summer and autumn-winter periods are allowed recreational fishing for an extra charge. Buy a ticket for a paid fishing is possible at the reception in the hotel complex «Plavno» (0.5 km from the village Volova Gora). The lake is inhabited chub, bream, pike, tench, roach, bream and perch.

Along the coastline there is special relaxation area, where you can hire catamarans, boats as well as fishing and sports equipment. A picnic can be carried out in specially designated areas.

Right on the shores of the picturesque lake is the eponymous hotel complex «Plavno», wich offers 10 comfortable rooms, and a restaurant with 30 seats. And also at the disposal of the complex there are billiards, sauna, swimming pool and Russian sauna, equipped beach, a helipad and sports. The entire complex is isolated from the «outside» and guarded 24 hours a day.
Along the path along the lake, you can go to the Hunter and Fisherman house «Plavno». The original construction of this small structure resembles a tent. This is cozy two-storey wooden house, which can accommodate six people, two in each of three double rooms.
