Eelpout

Eelpout (Lotalota). — the only exclusively fresh-water fish of group treskoobrazny which body is extended, has a roundish form in forward part, and in back strongly squeezed from sides, with the big head which length exceeds the maximum height of a body. Coloring of a body of a burbot depends on character of soil, transparency and illumination of water, and also on age of fish therefore it is quite various: to thicket dark-brown or blackish-gray, brightening with age. On sides of a body and unpaired fins there are big light spots. The form and the size of spots can vary. Belly and fins light.
In Belarus lives everywhere in the rivers and many lakes. Prefers clear water, with the silty stony bottom, cold spring water. Most often meets in small spring small rivers. For the parking chooses the deep holes shaded by coastal thickets, creating a shadow and a cool.
