Lake Shevino is located in Vitebsk district, Vitebsk region, 16 km to the West from Vitebsk, near the village Shevino and belongs to the basin of river Shevinka. It's included in the recreation area Ostrovno-Letsy. The area around the lake is predominantly hilly, mostly covered with forest and shrubs. There are also marshy places. In South and South-West there are extensive forests, wich are rich in a variety of berries and mushrooms.

The lake surface is 0.37 km², its length - 1.2 km, maximum width 0.48 km, maximum depth - 4.5 m. The banks are mostly elevated (height from 2 to 17 meters) and sandy, but in the South-East it's partly swampy, overgrown with shrubs. The bottom of the lake is sandy, but in some places it's covered with deep mud. The coastline of the lake forms small bays. Shevino grows moderately, the width of riparian vegetation strips up to 40 meters. The bays are overgrown by water lilies, elodea, hornwort, pondweed. Through the lake flows the river Shevinka (runs under the name Zaronovka) and flows into the river Uzhnitsa, which connects it to Lake Letsy.

The lake Shevino has everything for a memorable stay - well-equipped beach with comfortable cabanas. To hide from the annoying summer heat or retire from noisy company you can in a cozy gazebo, and outdoor enthusiasts will also appreciate the specially equipped areas for picnic. The lake is home to bream, pike, roach, tench, rudd, perch and others. On the shores of the lake and surrounding area are located two health resorts, a recreation center, and two children's recreation camps.
