Grayling European

Grayling European (Thymallusthymallus) — fresh-water fish of a subfamily hariusovidny families salmon which body is extended and covered with rather large scales. Mouth bottom. Back fin very high, extended. At the beginning of a tail stalk over an anal fin the small fatty fin is located. Chest and belly fins small. Coloring of a body of a grayling changes depending on age and a season. Back gray-green. Body sides light gray with a pink shade. Paunch of silver-white color. Pair fins yellow. Unpaired fins violet with dark stains and strips.
In the territory of Belarus it is revealed in 14 waterways of the basin of the Neman River, originating from slopes Minsk, Novogrudsky, Oshmyansky heights, Sventsyansky ridges and proceeding along northern slopes of the Grodno height. Lives only in cold water waterways with the high content of oxygen. Typical habitats are sites of the rivers with rather rapid current and the stony and sand not silted soil.
